The landmark drill Number 1 scores 81,000 chart sales in its biggest week yet, including 11.8 million streams – double the plays of its closest competition – to hold off Lil Nas X’s Montero (Call Me By Your Name) at 2.

Meanwhile, several acts who performed at this week’s BRIT Awards enjoy a post-show uplift, led by The Weeknd, who sees Save Your Tears climb three to a new peak at Number 5. Anywhere Away From Here by Rag’n’Bone Man & P!nk – which the pair performed with the Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir – rockets 22 places to Number 9. Proceeds from the new version of the single, released immediately after their show-closing performance, go to NHS Charities.

Elsewhere in the Top 20, Coldplay earn the week’s highest new entry with Higher Power at Number 12, in part thanks to their performance at the BRITs. It marks their 21st Top 20 hit and the band’s highest-charting single since 2017’s Chainsmokers collaboration Something Just Like This which peaked at Number 2.

Further down, The Kid Laroi rebounds 17 places to Number 13 with Without You following a new remix featuring Miley Cyrus, while J Cole’s Interlude, from new album The Off-Season, debuts at Number 25.

Trippie Redd’s new single Miss The Rage ft. Playboi Carti opens at Number 32, and Black Hole by BRITs Rising Star winner Griff rebounds 12 places to Number 35 following Tuesday’s ceremony.

Finally, Los Angeles-based House producer Noizu makes his Top 40 debut with Summer 91 (Looking Back) at Number 39. Originally released in summer 2020, the track has enjoyed a steady climb up the Top 100 for the past nine weeks.

Rag’n’Bone Man’s Life By Misadventure charges in at Number 1

With 42,000 chart sales – including 33,000 on physical formats – the blues-rock musician outsells the rest of the Top 5 combined and claims the biggest opening week for a British act in 2021 so far, and the fastest-selling album by a solo artist this year too.

The entry follows Rag’n’Bone Man’s moving performance at the BRIT Awards on Tuesday, which saw him perform Anywhere Away From Here with P!nk and the Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir.

Singer-songwriter and YouTuber Dodie is new at 3 with her debut album Build A Problem, which follows two Top 10 EPs released in 2017 and 2019, and Brighton post-punk band Squid enter at 4 with their debut Bright Green Field – this week’s best-seller on vinyl.

Rounding out the Top 5 is music icon Van Morrison, whose new collection Latest Record Project Volume 1 enters at 5 to earn the Northern Irish musician his 16th Top 10 album.

BTS star Jin struggling with looming military service break from the band

BTS star Jin will be heartbroken when he has to step away from the group to serve in the military.

The pop star has been told he can delay his compulsory stint in the South Korean army until he turns 30 in two years’ time and he’s grateful to get the chance to continue performing and recording with the global superstar act until then.

However, he admitted that walking away and watching from afar as he carries out military orders will be tough.

“I think the country sort of told me, ‘You’re doing this well, and we will give you a little bit more time’,” Jin told Rolling Stone magazine. “It’s an important duty for our country, so I feel that I will try to work as hard as I can and do the most I can until I am called.

“I’ll be sad, but I’ll be watching them (BTS) on the internet and cheering them on.”

Every male South Korean citizen must enter into military service for approximately two years between the ages of 18 and 28, but the stars of BTS have been told they can wait until they’re 30.

Jin turned 28 in December, Suga turned the same age in March, while J-Hope is 27. The remaining members – V, RM, Jimin, and Jungkook – are aged between 23 and 26.

V told the publication the group has yet to discuss the logistics of the army duty, adding, “It’ll work out eventually.”

Katy Perry: ‘I wish I wasn’t so boy-obsessed when I was younger’

Katy Perry would love to go back in time and give her boy-crazy younger self some sage advice.

The pop star, who revisits her teenage years in the video for her new Pokemon-inspired single Electric, insists she has few regrets in life, but she would have liked her early life to have been less about the opposite sex.

“I stumbled, I fell, I made mistakes,” Katy tells PopSugar. “I learned from all of it. But I was pretty boy crazy. I think I was always searching for real love and true love.”

The Firework singer, who endured a painful split from her first husband, British comedian Russell Brand after just 14 months of marriage, was due to wed another Brit, Orlando Bloom last year (20), but their plans have been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now she’s happily in love, the star wishes she could tell her younger self to not let worries about her love life get to her.

Asked what she would say to a young Katy if she could hop in a time machine, the 36-year-old said, “Lose some time to be emotional about the boys…

“I’d say, ‘Don’t worry, keep swinging, make mistakes. Don’t read the comments. Don’t scroll down on the comments, and know how to separate real life from internet life. And boys aren’t mature until they’re 35, at least.'”

Nicki Minaj still ‘devastated’ by dad’s hit-and-run death

Nicki Minaj has opened up about the recent death of her father in a heartfelt new letter to fans.

In the note, posted on her website on Friday, the rapper explains she is still not in a place where she can talk about her dad, Robert Maraj’s passing at the hands of a hit and run driver in February, but tells fans the tragedy is “the most devastating loss of my life”.

“I find myself wanting to call him all the time,” the Anaconda hitmaker writes. “More so now that he’s gone. Life is funny that way. May his soul rest in paradise. He was very loved & will be very missed.”

Maraj, 64, was hit by a car while crossing a street in Mineola, New York. A 70-year-old man was later arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with physical evidence.

Janet Jackson’s brothers thank Justin Timberlake for his apology

Janet Jackson’s brothers have thanked Justin Timberlake for apologising for his role in the 2004 ‘nipplegate’ scandal.

The pop superstar shocked viewers and upset National Football League bosses and sponsors when she bared a breast during an explosive performance with Justin as part of the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

It’s still not clear who is specifically to blame for the eye-popping moment, but the Mirrors singer issued an apology last February after being called out for the way he’d acted in the wake of the controversy.

Appearing on The Andy Cohen Show on Wednesday, Marlon, Tito, and Jackie Jackson reflected on the apology, with Marlon commenting: “You know, it takes a man to step up and do that, so we do thank him for doing that.

“But we’d like to move forward because that was out there, the negativity about it. But, as they say in the old days, as long as they’re talking about you, good or bad, you’re still in the public’s eye…We thank you, Justin, for what you did.”

“It’s nice he did something like that, because it kind of hurt Janet in the past. So, for him to step up and say that, it means a whole lot,” Jackie added.

Leslie Jones’ pal convinced her to get COVID-19 jab

Leslie Jones was worried about taking the COVID-19 vaccine, but got the jab after chatting with a biologist pal.

The 53-year-old actress, who is hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards this Sunday, told Variety that she was initially dubious about having the vaccine.

“When it first came out I was like, ‘I’m not taking that s**t,’” she explained. “They’re just going to come up with a potion and we’re supposed to take that s**t?…I was like, ‘I’m going to wait until the last batch and then maybe somebody could talk me into it.’”

Leslie then had a chat with her aunt’s friend – a biologist working in COVID-19 research – who told her: “This is very serious. Please get vaccinated.”

When she discovered that she was required to have the vaccine to host the awards ceremony, Leslie decided she just needed to get it done.

“I was like, ‘I gotta be sage so let me just go bite the bullet,” the Ghostbusters actress said.

Oprah Winfrey cringes at ‘inappropriate’ Sally Field interview question

Oprah Winfrey regrets caving to producers’ demands to quiz legendary actress Sally Field about former lover Burt Reynolds.

The media mogul admits the decades-old question was “inappropriate” and that it’s the one mistake that continues to haunt her to this day.

“Of flubs in the world, this was when I was younger and not living from the point of view of the surrogate, but I did feel a responsibility to ask the questions people wanted (to know the answers to),” she shared. “And Sally Field was on. My big mistake: I asked her, ‘Does Burt sleep with his toupee on?'”

The Smokey and the Bandit co-stars famously dated for several years back in the late 1970s, but the relationship didn’t end well, and the two-time Oscar winner made it clear she didn’t appreciate Oprah’s line of questioning.

“I even say now, I cringe to even think that I asked that question,” the talk show legend admitted to Rob Lowe on his Literally! podcast.

“But I asked it because the producers are like, ‘You have to ask, you have to ask, you have to ask. That’s what everybody wants to know.’ And so I asked it and she went cold on me. She shut down and I could not get in again. I could not.”

Reflecting on his own experience of working with Field on TV drama series Brothers & Sisters, Rob shared: “She’s one of the most amazing actors I’ve ever known, but when Sally goes cold, it’s like (former Soviet Union leader Nikita) Khrushchev in the Cold War. She will bury you.”

Agreeing with him, Oprah said, “It was like, ‘Whoa, Sally went cold on me on live TV.’ I deserved it, I deserved it, I deserved it, ’cause that is such an inappropriate question.

“Meanwhile, I still want to know!” laughed Lowe, as Oprah replied, “She certainly didn’t answer it. And then it didn’t matter what else I said.”

George Michael’s ex-lover wins will battle – report

George Michael’s ex-partner Kenny Goss has won a share of the pop star’s fortune, after a legal battle with the Wham! singer’s family.

Michael’s trustees, Christopher Organ and his sister Panayiota Panayiotou, aka Yioda, have agreed a confidential financial settlement with Goss, 62, after a long-running court battle.

Documents released by the High Court in London, obtained by the Daily Mail also reveal that Panayiotou will also inherit her part of the singer’s multi-million-pound estate, estimated at $136 million (£97 million), from her sister, Melanie, who died exactly three years after her famous brother, on Christmas Day 2019, after falling into a diabetic coma.

When Michael died in 2016, he left the bulk of his estate to his older sisters, his father, Jack, and friends. He left nothing to Goss, nor to his boyfriend at the time, Fadi Fawaz.

Goss challenged the will and issued a lawsuit, seeking reasonable financial provision from Michael’s estate under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act, claiming the Careless Whisper singer was helping to fund his lifestyle up until his death.
